This page describes what Affiliate Link Checker stores. It is short because the product stores little.

The free check

The free single-URL check needs no signup and asks for no email. You enter a URL, we fetch that one page, and we show the result. The check stores no crawl, no page row and no report. It is limited to 5 checks a day per IP address, so we keep one counter per address for each UTC day. The counter holds a salted hash of the address rather than the address itself, and it expires after 25 hours.

Sites you add

When you add a site we store its host, the verification method you use, and the token we generated for it. We also store the affiliate tag or tags you tell us are yours, and the Amazon marketplace you want links to use. We crawl a host only after the verification passes, and we re-check it before every crawl. Adding a site does not itself make us request anything from it.

A scheduled crawl stores the cadence you choose and the time of its next run. Deleting the site deletes its schedule.

Crawl results

One crawl stores a row for the crawl itself, a row for each page with its URL, final URL, HTTP status, title, depth and link counts, and a row for each affiliate link with the page it sits on, the href as written, the network, the tag, the marketplace, the issues found, where the link resolved and when it was checked.

We keep the extracted main text of each page for 7 days, then the text is cleared from the page row and only the link data remains.

Results are kept for 90 days on Pro and 365 days on Business. After that the crawl row and every row that hangs off it are deleted automatically. Both numbers come from the plan table the rest of the product enforces, and the same settings drive the cleanup job, so this page and the deletion cannot drift apart.

Accounts

If you create an account we store your email address and the sign-in details needed to log you in, plus the sites you add and the crawls you run. The trial lasts 7 days and needs no card.

Each API call that is charged a unit stores one row for the meter: the account, the key, the route, the month and the request id. A request refused by a limit is not charged and stores no row.

Payments

Card payments are handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your card number. We keep your plan and subscription status so we know what you have access to.

Mail from us

The crawl report goes only to the address on the account that owns the site. We do not mail anyone else about your sites, and we keep no mailing list.

Pages we fetch

We fetch the URLs you ask us to check, as described on the crawler page. The crawler identifies itself as AffiliateLinkCheckerBot and obeys robots.txt. We read the raw HTML the page serves and do not run the scripts in it.
